Chants, Bandanas, and Competition: SCATS Olympics!
The hill felt different, in the best way possible, as students took part in one of the most exciting events of camp: the SCATS Olympics. The energy had been building for days as campers were placed into teams representing countries like Japan, Mexico, Albania, the Netherlands, Tuvalu, and International Waters (the Pirates). Teams came prepared with chants, colors, and plenty of spirit.
The opening moments set the tone for the day. Campers showed up ready to compete and support one another. Events took place throughout the afternoon, including volleyball, relay races, dodgeball, trivia, Just Dance, and musical chairs. In between, students also enjoyed side activities like ping pong, art, and storytelling, where creativity was just as important as competition.
What stood out most was the atmosphere. The competition was strong, but it stayed friendly and encouraging. Campers cheered for their teammates and celebrated each other’s efforts, making the experience fun for everyone involved.
By the end of the day, International Waters took first place, followed by Mexico in second and Japan in third. The scores were close, and every team gave their best effort.
The SCATS Olympics was more than just a series of games. It was a chance for students to work together, show creativity, and build connections. It’s moments like this that make camp memorable, and this is one event campers will be talking about for a long time.
