Recycled stories

SCATS campers were put to the test on Saturday in what we call Paper Theater. The students were divided into groups and given a stack of newspapers, tape, and a wacky theme for a skit. “Goldilocks, the Opera,” “Rapunzel, Space Edition,” “The Wizard of Oz in the Wild West,” you name it! Old stories got new life with all sorts of action-packed themes. The students wrote skits to match the themes and then created costumes and props — all in about half an hour. The campers had a blast and showed off their creativity, making for a memorable event for all of our campers. They even asked if they could do it again!
