SCATS campers look forward to optionals almost every night. Kids meet me with questions like, “Ms. Emma, please, please, please tell us there is friendship bracelet making!” or “Emma, is there CTF at all?” I had the opportunity to create a fun optional based on our camp assistant Roman T.! We dubbed the optional “Roman Art.” Roman posed for the campers as they drew him sitting on the windowsill. They also drew another camp counselor and gifted the models their wonderful drawings. (See Roman and the artists in the photo.) Campers grow closer with the counselors throughout SCATS, and this optional proved that. I cannot wait to see how these students grow through their time at camp.
