On Wednesday, VAMPY campers participated in activities, called optionals, planned by the counselors. Every time the counselors plan activities, we ensure that there are a variety of options available to appeal to every kind of camper. Activities included “Lord of the Rings,” “Party in the USA,” “Christmas in July,” and more conventional optionals like ultimate frisbee and game room.
Jon-Kyle and I organized an optional called Mad-Hatter Tea Party. Campers drank hot tea, wore silly hats, made friendship bracelets, and enjoyed each other’s company. For some campers drinking tea was a new and interesting experience and a couple of girls told me they had found their new favorite hot beverage. Overall, the optional was a fun way to relax after a busy week and a half at camp.
