Today we delved into the world of forces, which entailed learning about Newton’s Laws. The day was filled with interactive presentations and demonstrations. For example, the students saw firsthand just how a magician can successfully pull out a tablecloth from under all sorts of dishes, and then they got to have a go at it themselves. We held our first physics competition between the students- the helium balloon slow race. The team with the slowest balloon was the champion!
In study hall, the planes are nearly done and flying, and a bridge building challenge lies ahead of the kids. Tomorrow, we will talk about Energy and sit in on Dr. Andrew’s lecture and demonstration on projectiles featuring the infamous Mathinator dart cannon.
