Amusement Park Physics: Newton’s 1st and 2nd Laws of Motion

Amusement Park Physics 2

Amusement Park Physics is really diving deep into Newton’s Laws of Motion. Yesterday, the students learned about the 1st and 2nd Laws of Motion. They’re getting some excellent lessons from the experiments they’re doing. First, we experimented with inertia and Newton’s 1st Law. Then, we tried several experiments to investigate how mass, acceleration, and force interact. We ended the day by going outside and experimenting with centripetal acceleration (the old water in the bucket trick). They’re looking forward to today and the new information it will bring when they investigate gravity and air resistance.
