Our class had a great time in Washington, D.C. We left on Thursday night, and on Friday we took a tour of many of the famous monuments before we went to the National Museum of American History to see the exhibits on American Presidents. After lunch in the museum, we went to the Supreme Court to hear a lecture over how our nation’s highest court works. We then traveled to the U.S. Capitol to get a tour through Representative Brett Guthrie’s office. The students also got to see the outside of the White House before we met up with the other two classes.
We arrived back in Bowling Green at 6:00 on Saturday morning. On Sunday night during study hall, students analyzed the assessment they took last week, discussed a Supreme Court case, and did a preview of this week’s Presidential Face-Off Tournament with a mock debate.
