What a wonderful group of campers we have at SCATS this year! The days are just flying by. In our class, we have already written three pieces: an autobiography, a parts of speech poem, and a “Where I Stand” personal essay. We have been so impressed with the writing ability of this class. The anthology we produce by the end of next week will be fantastic! So far, we have spent each day on thinking skills, reading a class novel looking for techniques the author uses, writing new pieces, and word processing those pieces. The enthusiasm for writing is so nice to see from a group of middle school students.
