Stepping into the second week!
Our first week of VAMPY ended on a high note, with campers participating in an event called Paper Theater on Sunday night. The kids were separated into groups and given a fairytale and a twist to make their own. For example, The Three Little Pigs, but in space. Each group had around 45 minutes to plan their skits and make costumes solely out of newspaper, as the name suggests. Each performance is unique in its own way, and every year it’s a hit for both the campers and the VAMPY staff. We love seeing the kids be creative, and it’s a great way for campers to get out of their shell by either working with a new group of people or stepping into the spotlight during their performance!
After Paper Theater, the winners of the VAMPY Olympics were announced and got to celebrate with their team. The Olympics are a lot of work, and every team gave a great effort and had lots of fun in the various events. After a long weekend full of activities, we’re glad to get back to routine, but also know that we can look forward to our second weekend even more as campers begin getting back in the swing of things with their classes.
