“America the Beautiful”, Why it truly is

Students learn and explore vast regions in America the Beautiful

Want to take a trip but not sure where to go? Bethany Spencer’s America the Beautiful class allowed SCATS campers to take a deep dive into what the geography looks like in different areas of America and the culture and characteristics unique to those areas.

After learning about different national parks, forests, lakes, coastlines, and scenic byways, students were asked to complete a top ten list of places they want to travel in the future. Hunter would like to go to all the parks in the southwestern region of America, while Kaitlyn wants to go on a trip to Denali, and Rose would like to travel to Mackinac Island.

While some students have traveled to numerous national parks, beaches, and forests, many have not ventured far from Kentucky. Regardless, these campers have had a wonderful opportunity to see the beauty of our country and the amazing, endless possibilities of lands to explore!
