SCATS got Talent!

Wednesday night was the annual SCATS talent show! The talent show had a Shark Tank theme where our Emcees played the “Sharks” as a counselor and consisted of 20 acts, ranging from cooking minute rice in only 58 seconds! To singing songs from popular broadway shows like Waitress and BeetleJuice. The show started with a dance performed to Belly Button Dance from VeggieTales by the counselors and girls of the fourth floor. The show continued with the reading of an original poem called “Stay Golden” based on The Outsiders. There were also musical performances of the violin, trumpet, bass guitar, and acoustic guitar. Our wonderful Emcees used comedy to introduce each act with everyone getting their own special bit. In the middle of the talent show our excellent counselors performed the Counselor Update, a comedy skit made from running jokes that have taken place throughout camp. Don’t worry our students were still learning during the talent show with a rendition of the PI song (where they recite 100 numbers of PI), and the act of solving a Mirror Rubik’s Cube being solved while blindfolded! Students also showed off their acting skills creating a skit based on the Bible story of David and Goliath. The most moving part of the show belonged to the performance of Man or Muppet from the acclaimed Muppets movie. The campers were graced with the best singing they have ever heard during the counselor performance of Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. Students both performing and watching were thoroughly entertained and given the opportunity to express themselves through their chosen ability. Can’t wait to see what the next SCATS has in store!
