Chinese: Unveiling the Mystery of the Political System in Communist China

During the presentation on China’s political system with the Presidential Politics class sitting in with us, I learned more about the Chinese government, how it’s structured, and how it functions. One interesting thing I noticed is, contrary to many Americans’ presumption, China has a body that represents the people for legislative purposes (what they call National People’s Congress), just like the U.S. Even more interestingly, the NPC contains far more representatives (2,987) than the U.S. ( Senate 100, and House of Representatives 435)  for their 1.3 billion population. The NPC representatives are reelected every five years, and they convene annually to supervise critical decision making at the national level.
