Counselor’s Corner – Caroline Moots

After a busy week of classes, campers just wrapped up a fun-filled weekend here at VAMPY. Whether it was a beloved tradition like the VAMPY Olympics or a fun excursion to the theater, this past weekend had something for every camper to enjoy.

The weekend began with the VAMPY Olympics—a fiercely competitive event where two counselor groups join forces, choose a country, and compete against others in musical chairs, dodgeball, storytelling, relay races, tug-of-war, trivia, and more. The Olympics filled Saturday with excitement and friendly competition!

On Saturday evening, campers ventured to SKyPAC (Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center) to see The Wizard of Oz. It was a bright and exciting performance that many campers and counselors thoroughly enjoyed!

Sunday included plenty of community time for campers to relax and enjoy each other’s company, watch movies, and attend Varnival. Varnival is a camp tradition where campers move between different activities led by counselors. They could play outside with frisbees and footballs, create awesome crafts, get their faces painted, enjoy some reading time, and more.

The weekend flew by and was exciting every minute. Campers are now heading into a new week of classes full of fresh learning opportunities. It’s wonderful to see them enjoying both weekend adventures and classroom experiences!
