Counselor’s Corner: Cassie Stuart

CassieThe second weekend of VAMPY was full of fun for people of all ages. VAMPY tradition VCON took place on saturday. VCON is when campers and counselors alike dress in costume and participate in themed activities. Some of my personal favorite costumes were counselor Megan as Mr.Beast, counselor Breanna as a pirate, and we even had counselors dressing as each other! Campers got creative too with group costumes like Alivn and the Chipmunks, we even had an appearance from Disney’s Stitch.  The Counselors opened VCON with a skit used to reveal the theme for this year’s VCON. The skit featured each counselor being turned into Muppets and having to raise tickets to save the Gatton Academy and VAMPY from being turned into a Red Lobster. Can you guess the theme? The Muppets! The campers then got to participate in activities like Miss Piggy’s Xtreme Makeovers, Mumfords Magic Tournament, Bunsen and Beakers Slime Time, and Animal’s Dance Part! Through these events campers earned “money” to help save VAMPY, and after they raised the tickets we needed to earn, the counselor’s got turned back into humans and all was saved! While campers were living it up at VCON, the 40th VAMPY reunion was taking place, the two groups came together in the evening for a celebratory dinner.  After a quick change campers then made their way to a dance! Everyone danced the night away to the tunes of Party in the USA, Cupid Shuffle, and Mr.Brightside. The dance ended with a celebration of VAMPY fourth years and it was almost impossible to stop tears of both happiness and sadness from flowing. Their time may be ending but these memories will last forever!
