Teacher’s Talk: Introduction to Heather Shaner

Hello! my name is Heather Shaner and I am an 8th grade Algebra/Pre-Algebra teacher at Franklin-Simpson Middle School. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, it’s about 20 minutes south of WKU’s campus. This is my first year teaching SCATS and I am so excited for this opportunity. These next two weeks will be filled with lots of fun and activities in Greek Mythology. We will learn about the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus, certain myths of various cultures, read a collection of Greek myths, research the ways Greek mythology influences today, and finally, students will create and present their own myth. It’s going to be a great two weeks!
