ptp, primary talent pool

Primary students who show high potential are selected for the Primary Talent Pool. Some of them will be formally identified as gifted as they exit third grade but probably not all of them. It is important to use the term selected rather than identified in the primary grades to help reduce confusion when some students do not meet the criteria for formal identification later.

1)
Develop a Primary Talent Pool Selection Plan for your school.

2) Be aware of the characteristics of high-potential learners

3) Take into consideration students who have traditionally been underrepresented
(from poverty, who are English language learners, who are from various ethnic groups, or who may be twice exceptional)

4) Notify the parent/guardian(s) of the selected student
