VAMPY students in Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Logsdon’s Writing classes welcomed WBKO’s rising star, Zakk Gammon to their classroom last week. Zakk spent an hour talking to the students about his career as an onscreen personality and journalist.
Zakk got his start in the TV business at the ripe age of 16, where he was hired as an editor and associate producer for WBKO’s 5, 6 and 10pm newscasts just two weeks after his junior year of high school. He told the students he didn’t recommend entering the business in that manner, that pursuing degrees first would be the preferred way of securing a position in the field.
