I learned about an ancient Chinese philosophy, Taoism, which is a major Chinese belief. As we are immersed in Chinese culture, we understand this philosophy. Wednesday we were able to attempt one of their practices: Tai Chi exercise. Tai Chi helps you relax and is believed to promote good health and Chi (energy). In the afternoon, we also began looking at China’s past all the way back to the first emperor and his short reign during which he built the Great Wall and Terracotta warriors through much resistance.
Finally, we examined the present by looking at the current factory conditions in Chinese-American factories. We are debating this topic at the end of this week in the British Parliamentary style. Our research even extended to conversing with another VAMPY class, Sustainability. We discussed the environmental conditions in China verses America.
