Campers bond over classes, optionals, and hall time

Campers have begun to make more friends in their classes and throughout their daily activities as they become more involved in camp life. As students trek up and down the infamous hill from one class to another, they eagerly chat about the great activities they have been participating in during class and what they are looking forward to for the rest of the day.

I have had the opportunity to observe how campers interact with one another, and can’t help but smile when I see them support and respect not only their friends, but also any other campers they come into contact with.

Optionals and community time also give campers the ability to meet up with their friends from class and interact with one another in a more relaxed environment. I was one of the counselors in charge of the soccer optional, and the 18 campers who signed up to play might as well be the next World Cup superstars!

After soccer, a small group formed a band with some musical instruments during community time and shared their talents with other campers as they sang along to popular songs. At the end of the day, campers have hall time. I love playing music and listening to the second floor girls tell me about their day, and what they enjoyed about their classes, as they catch up with their hallmates over a shared laugh and trade friendship bracelets.
