When I attended VAMPY as a camper, I greatly enjoyed my classes and Optionals, but my favorite parts of camp were community time and hall time. Over the first few days, my campers have been having just as much fun as I did.
On the first day of VAMPY, our class explored an important question: What is pop culture? By breaking down the words “popular” and “culture,” we came to the conclusion that pop culture is liked by a majority of people and contributes to the lifestyle of people.
Unlike at other camps, VAMPY counselors possess a familiarity with what it is like to grow up gifted. Since almost all of them attended our camps themselves, they know what VAMPY can do for its campers and share the belief that it is a place like no other.
On Tuesday evening for our Optional, Maddie Hamblin and I joined some campers to follow along with The Joys of Painting with Bob Ross.
